Since its establishment in 2016, China Campus Network (CCN) has remained committed to serving China's vision of educational opening-up and the high-quality development of international education in China. Under the pioneering leadership of Founding Chairman Mr. Yu Shucheng, the constructive guidance of Honorary Chairman Mr. Liu Baoli, and the joint support of the CCN Management Committee, Academic Management Committee, Secretary-General, Secretariat, and member universities, CCN has gradually developed a mature international foundation education system, a collaborative mechanism among member universities, and a network of foundation centres and partnerships in China and overseas.

In response to the new requirements and opportunities for foundation education for international students in the new era of CSCA, and to further advance the development of overseas foundation centres, localisation of foundation programmes, international student educational quality, member university collaboration, and CCN brand building, the CCN Management Committee has decided to establish a collaborative working mechanism between the Chairman and the Executive Chairman. The Committee has appointed Professor Gu Jianzheng, former Dean of the College of International Education at Harbin Institute of Technology, as Executive Chairman of CCN, effective 15th July, 2026.

Professor Gu has long been dedicated to the internationalisation and development of universities. He brings deep professional expertise, extensive management experience, and broad influence across the higher education sector. Since the founding of CCN, Professor Gu has served as Deputy Chair of the Academic Management Committee and has been an important participant, contributor, and driving force in CCN's founding, development, and continued growth.

In his new role, Professor Gu will work in collaboration with the Secretary-General and Secretariat, focusing on CCN's development strategy, university community building, member university collaboration, overseas partnership development, overseas foundation centre development, and key project implementation, helping CCN strengthen its organisational capacity, brand influence, and collaborative development among member universities.

Looking ahead, CCN will continue to improve its governance mechanisms, develop shared understandingsamong member universities, enhance educational quality, and expand its international influence. The consortium will play a more active role in improving the quality of foundation education for international students in the CSCA era and will make new contributions to the continued development of Study in China.
